Gambit

A gambit is a strategic maneuver or tactic, often used in games, discussions, or negotiations, where one party makes a calculated sacrifice or concession to gain an advantage later. In chess, for instance, a player might sacrifice a pawn early in the game to improve their position or to create opportunities for attack. The term can also apply more broadly to various contexts, such as politics, business, or personal interactions, where an individual might offer something of lesser value to elicit a more favorable response or achieve a specific goal. The key aspect of a gambit is the idea of taking a risk for a potential reward, emphasizing foresight and strategic thinking.
